Gulf Solvents — Solvents & Drilling Fluid Additives, Jebel Ali
Bulk storage tanks on a port terminal
Jebel Ali Free Zone · United Arab Emirates

Solvents, coatings materials, drilling fluids and bulk ferro alloys, held in the Gulf.

Four lines, one warehouse discipline: industrial and oilfield solvents, coatings raw materials, the full drilling-fluid additive range, and bulk ferro alloys for steelmaking — in bulk, IBCs and drums, from a free-zone stock rather than a forwarding schedule.

How we supply
01
Sourced on specification

From refiners and producers we have bought from for years, against the grade the job needs — not the grade that happens to be cheap this month.

02
Held in Jebel Ali

Free-zone stock, segregated by hazard class, ready for local delivery or re-export without a new import cycle.

03
Packed the way you receive it

Bulk, ISO tank, IBC, drum or sack — labelled, documented and palletised for the site that has to unload it.

04
Delivered to the rig or the plant

With the transport documents, SDS and certificates in the same shipment, so nothing waits at a gate for paperwork.

Why a stockist and not a broker

A drum in Jebel Ali beats a container at sea

Most of what we sell is available from a dozen places. What is not available is the same product, in the right pack, on a truck this week — with the documentation a free-zone customs officer and a rig-site HSE officer will both accept.

That is the whole business: stock we already own, in a jurisdiction that lets it move, handled by people who know which of these products must never share a pallet.

Handled properly, as a matter of course
Segregation by hazard class
Flammables, oxidisers and corrosives stored apart, bunded, and never consolidated for convenience.
Documentation with the goods
SDS, certificate of analysis and transport declaration issued together, in the language the receiving site works in.
Batch traceability
Every drum traceable to the batch and the producer, which matters on the day something behaves unexpectedly downhole.

Enquiries are answered by someone who can see the stock, not by a form that routes to a mailbox.

This is a formulated or graded product rather than a single substance, so there is no single published figure to quote. Tell us the duty and we will send the datasheet for the grade that fits it.

The company

A stockist, not a middleman

Trading solvents and drilling fluid additives out of the United Arab Emirates since 1993 — long enough that most of our customers were introduced by another customer.

The business is simple to describe and hard to do well: buy the right grade, hold it in a place goods can leave quickly, and hand it over with paperwork nobody has to chase.

Two things follow from that. The first is money: stock is capital sitting still, and a company that holds it is making a bet that a customer will need something before a container could reach them. We have been making that bet since 1993, which is why the range on this site is a range we own rather than a range we can quote.

The second is judgement. Solvents and mud additives are not interchangeable commodities once they reach a real application. The difference between a xylene grade that lifts an asphaltene deposit and one that merely wets it, or between a barite that stays in suspension and one that beds out overnight, is the sort of thing a buyer discovers at the worst possible moment. Knowing it in advance is what we are actually selling.

We work with drilling contractors, service companies, traders and industrial buyers, and we quote all four the same way: the grade that fits, the pack that suits the site, and a date we can hold.

How we deal
We quote what we have

If a grade has to be imported, we say so and give the real lead time rather than the one that wins the enquiry.

We say when it is the wrong product

Selling a customer something that will not work costs more than the order was worth. It has never once been worth it.

We deal in specifications

Every consignment leaves against a stated specification with the certificate to prove it, whether or not anyone asked.

Bulk storage and loading
Storage & logistics

Stock in the free zone, ready to move

Hazard-segregated storage, the pack sizes a receiving site can actually handle, and documentation issued with the goods rather than after them.

Why the free zone decides the lead time

A drum sitting in Jebel Ali can be on a truck to a UAE site the same day, or on a vessel to a neighbouring market without re-entering the import cycle. The same drum still at the producer is four to eight weeks away, whatever anybody promises.

That is the entire logistical proposition, and it is why the warehouse — not the price list — is the part of this business worth describing.

Flammables, oxidisers and corrosives are stored apart, bunded, and never consolidated for the convenience of a loading plan. Pallets are built for the site that has to break them down, not for the trailer that carries them.

What happens to an order
01
Grade confirmed against the duty

We ask what the fluid or the deposit is doing before we quote. It takes one call and saves the wrong drum arriving.

02
Picked, packed and documented

Packed to the size the site can handle, labelled to its hazard class, papers issued with the goods.

03
Delivered, or released for re-export

To the rig, the plant or the forwarder — with one person on our side accountable for the date.

Photographs of the Jebel Ali facility will replace the stock imagery on this page — the warehouse is the argument, so it should be the picture.

Quality, health, safety & environment

Hazardous goods, handled as hazardous goods

Most of what we store is flammable, and some of it is corrosive or toxic. Everything below follows from taking that literally rather than administratively.

The compliance a customer inherits

When a drum arrives on a site, our paperwork becomes that site's paperwork. A missing UN number, a safety data sheet in the wrong revision or a label that does not match the contents stops work at the gate — and the cost lands on the customer, not on us.

So the documentation is treated as part of the product. Classification follows GHS, transport follows IMDG and ADR as the route requires, and revisions are reissued to customers who bought under the old one rather than quietly updated on a server.

In the warehouse it is the ordinary discipline: segregation by class, bunding under liquids, spill kits where a spill would happen, and nobody handling a class of goods they have not been trained on.

Classification & labelling

GHS classification, pictograms and signal words on every pack, matched to the safety data sheet issued with it.

Transport compliance

UN number, proper shipping name, class and packing group declared for road and sea movements, with marine pollutant status where it applies.

Storage discipline

Segregation by hazard class, bunded areas, controlled access, and stock rotated so nothing is shipped near the end of its shelf life.

Environmental duty

Waste and washings handled through licensed contractors, and lower-toxicity alternatives offered wherever the application allows one.
